A free, two-day technology conference bringing software development and cybersecurity learning to Hetauda
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!HETAUDA, MAKWANPUR August 20, 2026: A new technology-focused conference is coming to Hetauda this month. DEV Community Nepal is organizing the Secure Developer Conference 2083, set to take place on August 31 and September 1, 2026, at Hotel Dragon & Banquet, Hetauda.
The two-day event is open to technology enthusiasts from across Nepal and will be free for selected participants. The program brings together two areas that are increasingly connected in the tech industry: software development and cybersecurity.
The conference is powered by Hetauda School of Management and Social Sciences (HSMSS) and led by Abhishek Adhikari, Co-Founder of DEV Community Nepal, serving as Lead Organizer, alongside Sushant Rimal, Founder of DEV Community Nepal.
From Development to Security
The first day of the conference will focus on the tools and practices developers rely on to build and collaborate on software.
GitHub Conference Day will cover topics such as Git and GitHub, open source, AI, DevOps, cloud computing, CI/CD, and developer productivity.
The second day shifts the focus toward digital security.
Cybersecurity Conference Day will explore ethical hacking, secure coding, cyber defense, AI/ML, prompt engineering, full-stack development, observability, and open-source technologies alongside discussions on cybersecurity career pathways.
Rather than treating development and security as separate subjects, the two-day format gives participants a chance to see how these areas connect in real-world technology work.
An Event Open to Nepal’s Technology Community
The conference is designed for students, developers, cybersecurity learners, and technology enthusiasts, with participation expected from across Nepal particularly Hetauda, Chitwan, Birgunj, and surrounding areas.
For many attendees, the event offers a chance to meet people outside their usual academic or professional circles and explore technologies and practices they might not encounter in regular coursework.
The program includes practical sessions, workshops, mentorship, career guidance, and networking opportunities.
Free Registration, With Participant Selection
There is no participation fee for the conference. However, because the venue has limited capacity, interested participants need to register through the official event page. Registration is a request to attend and does not by itself guarantee a spot the organizing team will review submissions and select participants, who will then receive confirmation.

The event aims to remain accessible to participants from different parts of Nepal, rather than being limited to a single local community.
HSMSS Supporting the Event
Hetauda School of Management and Social Sciences (HSMSS) is supporting the conference as its “Powered By” institution.
HSMSS’s involvement adds an academic dimension to an event centered on practical technology learning, creating a setting where students can engage with technology beyond conventional classroom instruction.
For participants, the conference offers a chance to explore current tools, understand industry practices, and have conversations around potential technology careers.
Local Leadership and Community Coordination
The conference is being coordinated in Hetauda under the leadership of Abhishek Adhikari, Co-Founder of DEV Community Nepal and the event’s Lead Organizer.
Local organization involves coordination among students, educational institutions, technology communities, and other partners helping bring the conference to Hetauda. The event also reflects the growing role of regional technology communities in connecting local students with opportunities and networks from across Nepal.
A Wider Initiative by DEV Community Nepal
The conference is organized by DEV Community Nepal, a community-driven organization working on technology education, skills development, and collaboration.
Its activities include training programs, workshops, seminars, conferences, and practical projects involving students, youth, companies, and technology communities. To date, the organization reports more than 150 sessions, trainings and workshops, six tech meetups, one hackathon, over 100 national collaborations, more than 25 awareness campaigns, and one bootcamp.
The Secure Developer Conference forms part of this broader effort to create opportunities for technology learning and community interaction across Nepal.
Why Hetauda?
Holding the conference in Hetauda gives the event a regional dimension. Students and developers in the city can participate alongside visitors from other parts of the country, while attendees get a chance to engage with Hetauda’s own student and technology community.
For the organizers, the event isn’t about positioning Hetauda against other tech hubs — it’s about creating another place where Nepal’s technology community can come together. A national conference held outside Kathmandu also adds to the growing number of technology events taking place across different cities in Nepal.
